The first modern-day lottery ticket to be sold in the USA

Founded in 1964, the New Hampshire Lottery stands as one of the oldest lotteries in the United States and is the oldest in the lower 48 states.

New Hampshire became the first USA state to sell lottery tickets since the early 20th century, on March 12, 1964.

The lottery offers a variety of games such as Lucky for Life, Mega Millions, Powerball, Tri-State Megabucks Plus, and a range of scratch tickets.

The New Hampshire Lottery joined the Iowa-based Multi-State Lottery Association (MUSL) in 1995, which allows it to offer large, multi-state games.

It's also a member of the Tri-State Lottery, which it formed in 1985 together with the Maine and Vermont lotteries.

This was the first time states had come together to create a joint lottery. The draws for the Tri-State Lottery are held in New Hampshire.
