William Deluca was continuing his tradition of buying his wife a Valentine's Day gift.
In 2015, while buying flowers, he also bought his weekly Mega Millions lottery tickets next door at the gas station.
Then, while checking his California Lottery tickets at the lottery store, he realized he had won a big prize.
He was unsure of the exact amount—thinking it could be $3,000, $300,000, or even $3 million—he rushed home for confirmation.
But his wife's screams of joy upon checking the Lottery’s website confirmed their ticket had won them $3,471,009.
