Lottery records are tumbling with the biggest-ever jackpot draw last month making lottery history.

The $2.04 Billion Powerball drawing created the biggest lottery winner in history and was the first jackpot to exceed $2 billion dollars.

There was another surprise with the prize amounts, and the one thing they all have in common. The biggest lotteries have broken this record:

In total, the five offered prize amounts have added up to seven and a half billion dollars ... $7,550,400,000 to be exact.

The latest Powerball winner has not claimed the $2,04 billion prize yet, but the Los Angeles store which sold the ticket is celebrating another record - a $1 million bonus commission.

Owner Joseph Chahayed, 75, of Joe's Service Center in Altadena, immigrated to the United States from Syria in 1980.

The grandfather of 10 is delighted with his good fortune and hopes to meet the winner.

Chahayed thinks it might be someone local.

"Most people who buy tickets from me are from the neighborhood," he told media as he was being presented with his check.

"I hope one of them will be the winner."

Meanwhile, it's likely the lucky billionaire-to-be ticket holder will be setting up his legal and financial team to deal with the vast sum involved.

This winner of the Powerball jackpot has one year under California law to claim their prize.
