There was a buzz of excitement today at Joe’s Service Center which had sold the winning ticket. CBSLA's Kara Finnstrom from Altadena.

Joe’s Service Center in Altadena, California, sold the winning multi-billion-dollar Powerball ticket to one of their customers.

No one has yet claimed the winning ticket to the jackpot worth $2.04 billion which had an overnight delay in the draw time.

Officials with the Multi-State Lottery Association, the organization behind the game, said that the Powerball drawing scheduled for Monday, Nov. 7 was delayed due to one participating lottery needing additional time to process its sales and play data.

Powerball officials said it had been in communication with the lottery throughout the night as it worked to resolve the issue.

“The delay is unfortunate as the other 47 lotteries were able to complete the required security procedures in a timely fashion.”

The organization went on to say: “Like the rest of America, Powerball is eager to hold its drawing for the world record jackpot, however, protecting the integrity of the draw is of utmost importance, even if that means a further delay.”

They asked that players hold onto their tickets.

“As soon as the required security procedures are completed by the one outstanding lottery, the drawing can proceed.”

Thank you to our players for their patience. We look forward to drawing the winning numbers as soon as possible.” stated Powerball.
