Bus driver Sean Lloyd wanted to remember the good luck penny that brought him a £1.8 million (US$2.7M) jackpot. So he built a wishing well with a fountain.

He had it built to celebrate his win and to bring him more luck, he told The Mirror.

Dad-of-four Sean, 49, said: “It’s the first thing I see every morning when I wake up and open the curtains.

“I’ll be encouraging all my family and friends to throw a penny in the fountain – perhaps I can bring them luck too.”

Sean quit his job on the buses the day after his win and has moved to a lavish five-bed home with sports room, bar, grand piano in the hall and a professional darts board and scoring system.

Manchester United fan Sean, who has five grandchildren, now lives in the Cheshire village of Greave – and still plays the lottery with his charm.

He said: “I keep the penny safe in my wallet and often rub it on other lottery tickets. I’ve had lots more smaller wins."
