Mysterious $50 Million Winner Fights To Claim Lotto Max Jackpot Anonymously. It's Been Over A Year

It seems improbable. The winner of the Canada Lotto Max a year ago still has not collected the prize.

They want to remain anonymous, and have brought in lawyers to fight the rules in court about the requirement to appear in public with the check.

And while the winner with the ticket bought in Langley, B.C. for the April 14, 2014 draw continues to argue the case, the jackpot money sits waiting. And ticking up the interest that could have been theirs.

The winning $50 million Lotto Max ticket, which was turned in just before the year was up to collect the prize, has been verified as authentic, but the process continues to verify the rightful owner.

The B.C. Lottery Corp. has so far declined to name the winner, and there have been no interviews on the subject.

The lottery organisation, BCLC, wouldn’t comment on whether or not the winner was challenging the identity requirement.
