But what Rahat didn't expect was the response, first by the video going viral over the weekend and racking up over 13 million views. And then when he tried to get Eric set up with a $20,000 fund to help him back on his feet, this is what happened...
He set up a Fundly crowdsource account. And in a short time it quickly gained over 1,800 contributors and raised more than $32,000.
Business Insider reported that during a Reddit AMA, Rahat said that he also put Eric up in a hotel for a couple of weeks and taken him out to dinner.
