ODDITY: Giant Lotto Balls Escape, Cause Mayhem All Over City For Ads
It's not often you see giant lottery balls floating down the Thames River, or embedded in the wall of a building. But for ad agency threepipe this was an opportunity to think big when they were chosen to publicise the UK National Lottery recently.
The agency spokesman said they have seen the Thames used for many a stunt before, but never on this scale, and also never at night. "This helped us create some beautiful and stunning content which has been lapped up by the national and lifestyle media."
It was an amazing experience to be on a speedboat at 2am watching six illuminated lotto balls the size of Double Decker buses come through Tower Bridge.
The pictures and film we were able to capture have been just what we imagined when we brainstormed how to make the biggest impact as possible.
We then followed this activity up by helping to organise a series of regional stunts using the iconic balls, like this London taxi crushed by a Lotto ball.
