Tennis Champ Venus Williams Featured In California Lottery Thank-You Ad [VIDEO]

Pro tennis champ Serena Williams has been in the news today, busting up her racket on court in a rare moment of anger.  But it was a different racket story when sister Venus visited her old elementary school in Lynwood, California last year to thank her former teacher.

The filmed visit was In honor of National Teacher Appreciation Month. Venus lived in California until sixth grade before moving to Florida.

In the commercial sponsored by the California Lottery, Venus, 36, surprised Ms. Judy Vellegas, her first grade teacher at Mark Twain Elementary, presenting her with one of her precious rackets in a frame.

“You are a star,” she told Vellegas. “Thank you for all you have done to help me rise.”
