New Girl At The Office Lottery Winning Pool Gets The Shock Of Her Life

New employee Jennifer Maldonado (arrowed) never thought this would happen to her.

Jennifer Maldonado had worked only two weeks at the Florida real estate agency when she got the surprise of her life.

The dozen employees at Laurie Finkelstein-Reader had asked her to join them in the office Powerball lottery pool, but she declined.

The $20 share was too much for the 31-year-old administration assistant, as money was tight.

The first sign that the group had won the Powerball lottery second division of $1 million.

Then came the shock surprise. The group won $1 million on only their second lottery attempt, and here's the good part - they unanimously decided that they would include her in the win.

Jennifer thought her team mates were pranking her 'because she was the new girl.'

Jennifer Maldonado knew something was up at her Florida real estate office after the drawing.

CBS reported the group was playing only their second lottery. Before taxes, each of them had won $83,000. And they were going to share the prize with her.

Laurie Finkelstein-Reader announces the share of the $1 million.

"We decided to include her and give her some of the money so that she would feel all the excitement, and part of the family, and know how much we cared about her," Laurie Finkelstein-Reader said.

"Karma is huge," Finkelstein-Reader said. "And I think that if you do the right thing, the right thing comes to you."

Finklestein-Reader should know. When she bought her group's tickets at a Florida gas station, another Powerball player cut ahead of her in line.

Jennifer is pleased to be part of the group and celebrations.

"So the lady who was working with me had to wait," Finkelstein-Reader said. "She waited for him to finish, and then she printed me the additional 60 tickets...which held our winning $1 million Powerball ticket! Yahoo!"
