Wrong Lottery Numbers May Have Cost 4 Players Their Million-Pound Tickets

It happened last month, and four people could be worried. Camelot, which controls the UK National Lottery, put the wrong Millionaire Raffle codes on its website.

The numbers were there for 40 minutes until the error was found and corrected.

That meant that four lottery winners may have torn up their tickets because they thought they had lost the draw.

A UK National Lottery ticket similar to the one that the Lottery are trying to find.

The missing winning tickets were bought in Worcester, Tameside, Leeds and Huntingdonshire. 

It happened on October 10, the night Camelot relaunched the lottery with a pledge to make 25 punters millionaires.

An appeal to track down the remaining winners was launched last week.

But despite Camelot saying it admitted the mistake publicly 'some time ago' there was no mention of it in the plea.

A Camelot spokesman said it was a simple human error.

"We are making every effort to find these people. We have a process for lost, stolen or destroyed tickets. If someone thinks they have lost their ticket they can make a claim within 30 days."

"They have nine days left to claim. They need to state details of where they purchased the ticket and the numbers they think they used and the name of the shop where they bought it."

The four missing winners have until midnight on 7th April 2016 to claim their prize and transform their life.

If the winners do not claim their cash it will go towards projects funded by the National Lottery.
