USA Gas Stations Force Lottery Players To Pay By Cash Only
Starting Monday some gas stations in Kansas will be banning credit cards for the purchase of lottery tickets.
QuikTrip (QT) stores will require customers who want to buy tickets to pay with cash.
Signs started popping up at QT convenience stores notifying people of the change in policy.
"As of Monday August 18, debit and credit cards will no longer be accepted as forms of payment for lottery tickets," the signs said.
Many US states prohibit using a credit card to purchase lottery tickets. But Missouri has left that up to the discretion of the retailer.
QuikTrip officials said it changed its policy because it costs the chain more to process the debit/credit payments than the purchase of the lottery tickets.
