Lottery Helps More Than Winners When Bad Weather Strikes

It's easy to forget that in most countries and states the lottery benefits more than just the winners. Many lottery organisations around the world give away millions to worthy causes like education, charities and sports groups.

In Britain, Gary Teague, chairman of Gloucester All Blues RFC, surveys the water in the Oxleaze club's car park in the recent storm.

Recently the UK National Lottery donated £5 million for flood relief to restore cricket pitches and clubhouses damaged by the recent storms.

Those organisations needing money to clean up and get up and running quickly can request up to £2,000 of emergency funding. They could be awarded the funds within three weeks.
