You won't believe how long it took for this Lotto Max winner to cash in his ticket

Let's say you won a million dollars in your lottery game. What would you do after all the shouting and screaming around you stopped and you took a minute to think?
A). Eagerly wait at the doors of your lottery HQ on Monday morning ready to collect your windfall?
B). Wait around a bit so you could arrive at the headquarters calm and collected?
Here’s what a real-life scenario looked like a while back...
Canadian Tung Do of Camrose claimed a $1 million Lotto Max windfall, after a little waiting.
So when did he play the game? You won't believe this: 10 months before!
He had a interesting reason for the long delay:
"I wanted to be calm and ready when I claimed it," Do said in a press statement. "I got a lot of pleasure knowing I had a million-dollar ticket somewhere safe," he said.
Do says he plans to invest some of that money in a retirement fund 'to help give me some more free time.' It seems Tung Do is very good at controlling his time.
He still cut it a little fine. Canadian residents have only 12 months from the date of the draw to claim their prize. Online players are automatically informed of any win straight after the draw.
OUR TIP: Lottery tickets do expire on different dates, so you need to check those deadlines on the back of the ticket.
If you miss the deadline, you're unlikely to get your prize. The best way is to make a regular trip to your lotto store after each game and have them put the tickets through their machine. You get added security by knowing there won't be any mistakes too.
