A winner from Jamaica protects his identity from the media while signing his Super Lotto $1.1 million check.

There are only 7 American states which allow winners to remain anonymous.

Everywhere else jackpot winners have to identify themselves.

The states where winners can stay hidden from the media are Delaware, Kansas, Maryland, North Dakota, Ohio, Texas and South Carolina.

But in Jamaica there’s no such restriction.

So the anonymous winner, dressed in a mask of Ghostface - a character in the ‘Scream’movies, collected his winnings of $158,400,000 Jamaican dollars (US$1.1M).

The winner, only identified as A. Campbell, said he became sick when he found out he won the Super Lotto in November after buying a $200 ticket, according to the Jamaica Star.

“I found out [I won] the same night," he said.

"Normally, I would write down the numbers from the [televised] draw, eat and then go and check my numbers.’

‘I looked at my ticket [that night] and ran into my bathroom and said: ‘I won! I won!'

Another Jamaican lottery winner, N Gray, covered her face with a smiley mask during the check presentation.

In another presentation, a Trelawny-born woman won $180 million Jamaican dollars (US$1.7M) in a 2018 jackpot.

N. Gray won less than six months after she started buying tickets in the regional Super Lotto.

She told the Jamaica Observer that she bought two sets of numbers she had been ‘banking on.’

She said that she had turned to playing the games in order to help meet her debts and bills, and was always confident she would eventually win the big prize.

It's quite common for winners in China to conceal their identity, but in the USA and many Western countries, lottery owners require a full photo reveal as part of the contract.
