DRAW! The $632 million winning Powerball jackpot sold in California and Wisconsin

In the 7th largest draw in lottery history, two Powerball tickets sold in California and Wisconsin matched all six numbers in the game’s Wednesday night drawing.

Due to popular ticket sales, the jackpot jumped beyond earlier estimates to $632.6 million at the time of the draw. It has a cash option of $450.2 million for the lucky winners.

The winning numbers in the Wednesday, Jan. 5, 2022 drawing were white balls 6, 14, 25, 33, and 46. The Powerball number was 17.

The Powerball jackpot was previously hit in the Oct. 4, 2021 drawing by a single ticket in California that won a $699.8 million grand prize.

That jackpot ranked as the 5th largest in Powerball history and the 7th largest in U.S. lottery history.

ABOUT: Powerball tickets are $2 per play. Tickets are sold in 45 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands. More than half of all proceeds from the sale of a Powerball ticket remain in the jurisdiction where the ticket was sold.

Powerball drawings are broadcast live every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday at 10:59 p.m. ET from the Florida Lottery draw studio in Tallahassee.
