The March winner of the Oz Lotto $70 million won twice in that game. Now the jackpot has risen to $70 million for next Tuesday’s draw.

Oz Lotto has been jackpotting for six weeks and is now offering a massive $70 million jackpot in Tuesday night’s draw.

The previous $70 million draw in March had three winners, but in a stroke of luck and forgetfulness one man received a two shares of the jackpot.

The anonymous Melbourne man won more than $46 million (US$32 million) on March 26 after buying two lottery tickets by mistake.

The Melbourne man bought a ticket at Winning Lotteries in St Albans before accidentally buying another one with the same numbers at Footscray Lottery Centre.

The man had no idea he had won a double division one prize of $46.6 million until the gaming company The Lott contacted him to inform him of his win.

The lottery player, described as a ‘hard-working man’ from St Albans, Melbourne, was speechless when staff called him to say he had won.

During the call, he said: ‘You’re kidding! Am I seeing things? I just checked by entry online and I think I know what you’re about to tell me.’

He added: ‘I play every week. I have always marked my entries but I have never chosen the numbers on anything in particular. They weren’t special before, but they are now.’

He won the division one prize of more than $23.3 million twice when Matt Hart (above) of the Lott informed him he had bought two tickets with exactly the same numbers, meaning he had won twice.

When asked what he wanted to do with his big win, he said: ‘I might think about retiring. First maybe a new home or a holiday. ‘I’ll definitely share it with my family.’

The Lott spokesperson Matt Hart has the happy job of advising people they have won.

“Seventy million dollars is an eye-catching prize and one of the biggest jackpots we’ve seen so far in 2019. It’s certainly more than enough to make some Aussie dreams a reality,” he said.
