Keith Williams with his wife Patricia when he won £1 million (US$1.3 million) in the EuroMillions lottery.

"A million pounds? Woohoo! Are you certain? Are you certain?" That was the response British man Keith Williams made when he called the lottery hotline to confirm his 2013 win.

The 54-year-old railway contractor from Merthyr Tydfil scooped the win in the EuroMillions Millionaire Raffle draw. They spent the money on a new house and treats for their son and grandson.

If you’ve ever wondered how the lottery tells you about your win, the transcript of the phone conversation with the National Lottery hotline went like this:

"Did you say that you've not checked your ticket at all?"

"No I haven't."

"Are you at home at the moment?"

"No I'm in work at the moment."

"Are you in a private room on your own?"

"No I'm just with a friend, it's no problem. Why?"

"Are you sure it's alright for me to talk in front of somebody else?"

"Yeah, it's fine."

"Are you sitting down?"

"Yes I am sitting down."

"It looks as though you have won one of the raffle numbers winning £1million pounds."

"A million pounds? Woohoo! Are you certain? Are you certain?

"I am not allowed to play games or lie."

"I'm not sitting down now, oh my god I won the raffle prize."
