One of the big advantages of the Silver Lotto System is that you don't have to wait as long as Irish millionaire Gerald Murphy.

The carpenter, 52, from Mayo county in Ireland, played the same numbers for more than 25 years before he claimed the prize of 6,384,6763 euros (US$4.5m).

One of our winners from Australia won $22.2 million in less than a year. The System is the secret.

Murphy says he "will not be giving up the day job any time soon."

His brother-in-law, shopkeeper Martin Murphy who sold Gerard the winning ticket, said: "That shows exactly the kind of guy he is - he won't be getting carried away."

Gerard has played the same numbers for more than 25 years and said he hasn't figured out what he is going to do with his winnings yet.

"I'm going to take a long holiday somewhere hot and decide what to do with it there," he said.

Murphy joked that he was finally getting his money back after years playing the same numbers for each Lotto draw.

"I've been playing these numbers for a very long time - I'm glad I didn't change them," he laughed. "Sure, I'm only getting my money back."
