Confident Lotto Max Winner Just Knew She Was Going To Win $50 Million

Nabila Batarseh of Calgary has plans for a new home after she took home a quarter-share of a $50 million Lotto Max jackpot.

“Honestly, I always believed that one day I would win the lottery. I always had a feeling it would happen to me."

And it proved true enough. Nabila Batarseh won a fourth share of the $50 million Canada Lotto Max game, and felt right at home with it.

"At first, I thought I had won the full $50 million dollars,” she told the Calgary Sun.

Batarseh bought the winning ticket at a 7-Eleven store on Crowfoot Way. N.W.

"I’m kind of happy that I didn’t, though. Fifty million dollars is a lot of money for one person. I was almost relieved to find out it was going to be shared."

“First I’m going to buy a good house,” she said. "I’ve always wanted to buy a nice house. I’m also going to help people – everyone that I can."

“And eventually I’m going to retire. I’ve spent 23 years on my feet, it’s time to retire.”

The remaining prizes went to three winners from Edmonton, British Columbia and Ontario.
