The Tatts Lotto hotspots across Australia have been revealed. And Victoria takes home more top lottery prizes than anywhere else in the country, according to tv news 'A Current Affair.'

But the secret is not where you live, so don't sell up and relocate.

Tatts agent Simon, who runs a news agency in Keysborough, south-east of Melbourne.

Since the beginning of 2015, Melbourne southeast, Melbourne east and Melbourne west have been the luckiest areas to buy a ticket after 37 punters turned into instant millionaires so far this year.

New South Wales and ACT also had their share of hitting the jackpot with 28 winners coming from western NSW, south and south western Sydney, Illawarra and south east NSW.

Queensland had 21 punters grab their life changing share from the Gold Coast, Redland City and Moreton Bay while South Australia is boasting 14 winners.

Tatts Lotteries spokesperson Elissa Lewis told News Nine that from January 1 till June 30 of this year, there has been 188 division one winners in Australia.

"Lotto is a random game of chance so we don't know what their secret is," she said.

Ms Lewis added, "So we find that most division one entries are sold where most people are," she said.

Agent assistant Stacey McKuen sold her first Division 1 winner in May 2015.

The states with the fewest millionaire jackpot winners were Northern Territory and Tasmania while Western Australia had just six despite running a different lottery company.

The Canley Heights News Agency sold a 1st Division lottery jackpot worth $1.6 million.

Tatts agent Simon told the Channel Nine program, "A few weeks ago, when we sold the division one, I had to ring 12 of our lucky customers,' he said.

"Selling someone a lucky ticket is a phenomenal thing to do."
