You would think the most popular store for the highest sale of lottery tickets in Oklahoma would be Oklahoma City or Tulsa. You'd be wrong. It's a place you've probably never heard of.

Guymon has a Pioneer Days rodeo in May each year.

Population 12,000 - Guymon is the town that sells a record number of tickets each month.

“We sell about $50,000 worth of tickets per month,” Jennifer Williams said. “We have had a lot of winners and our scratch-off ticket volume is phenomenal.”

She's the owner of Dizzy B’s Corner Mart, just north of downtown Guymon along State Highway 3. For those who have traveled through Guymon, it is the site of an old Love’s Store.

Williams, who has owned the store since 2005, said the sales accelerated in 2007 after a customer won $25,000 off the purchase of a single scratch-off ticket.

Since then the store has sold two $50,000 scratch-offs and four $20,000 scratch-off tickets; two of those sold back-to-back.

“The year before we were in the top three or four,” Williams said. “A lot of our business is in scratch-offs rather than Powerball, mainly because people in Guymon seem to want their money instantly rather than waiting for it.”

They have had big winners who have won anywhere from $1,200 up to $50,000 and many numbers in between. Their most popular ticket sales are the $5 values.
