Can The Norwegian Cat Lady Be Prevented From Winning The Scandinavian Viking Lottery?

What a combination... a cute cat, attractive owner and the lottery prize of US$1.07 million.

A teasing lottery ad is suggesting that Icelanders can stop a Norwegian cat lady from winning their lottery.

The ad says, "This Norwegian cat lady is going to win 150 million, only you can stop her."

The pan-Nordic Viking Lottery has odds of 1 to 12,271,512 which makes winning difficult, but no-one can be prevented from playing with the aim of taking the prize money away.

Journalist Halldór Oddsson points out in the original article, the only way to stop another person winning is to have the same numbers as the other winner. 

Then the win would be split between both winners.

If nothing else, the ad has probably been successful for the extra publicity it has generated. But the cat lady or feline won't be upset - it is a stock photo purchased from an image library.
