Can A Foreigner Playing From Outside The USA Win The Powerball Lottery?

Curious to know whether you can win and collect prizes from the USA Powerball if you live outside the United States?

A spokesman for the North Carolina Lottery answered this question.

Van Denton"If you legally purchase a Powerball ticket, you can play the game and you can collect prizes," said Van Denton, a spokesman for the North Carolina Lottery. 

"You do not have to be a citizen or a resident to play the game," he said.

"You could be a tourist. For example, someone from a state without Powerball could play while visiting a state that has the game."

That could also include someone visiting from another country, he said.
