The search is on for a lost UK National Lottery ticket worth £1 million (US$1.5M) lost in Huntingdonshire.

They are combining their fun search with a message for residents to enjoy Bonfire Night safely.

And they hope that the winning ticket does not go up in smoke on the night, reported the Cambridge News.

The ticket in the Lotto Millionaire Raffle was drawn on October 10, but has not been claimed. It has the code RUBY 4778 2862 and the deadline to claim is April 7, 2016.

It may have been destroyed by mistake when for a short time on the night of the draw the National Lottery website displayed a test screen of dummy Lotto Millionaire Raffle numbers.

The UK National Lottery is asking all players to check and re-check their tickets against the code to see if there is a £1M cheque waiting for the winner.

Firefighters are backing the hunt because Camelot will only pay out on a written claim if the ticket has been lost or destroyed. The final date for a claim is 9 November 2015.
