These are the age groups that buy the most and least lottery tickets in the USA

Studies show about 49% of adults in the United States buy lottery tickets, making it a popular form of gambling in the country.

This participation rate aligns with the notion that nearly half of all U.S. adults have played the state lottery, as reported by a Gallup survey.

The survey also highlights that lottery participation varies by income level, with more than half of middle- and upper-income Americans purchasing lottery tickets compared to 40% of lower-income Americans.

A study highlighted on LottoExposed.com mentions that 76% of people aged 55 or older in the UK play games offered by the National Lottery.

And the Journal of Gambling Studies found that in the US, 69% of individuals aged 31 to 40 bought lottery tickets regularly.

The participation rate declines among older age groups, with 54% for those aged 61 and older and 45% for those aged 70 and above.
