I'm a lawyer and I won $15 million from a Publix supermarket lottery scratch-off card
A Publix supermarket in Tampa Bay, Florida has been dubbed the ‘world's luckiest shop’ after selling two winning lottery tickets within two days.
The first of the lucky winners was lawyer Ryan Doddridge, 42.
He purchased a 'Florida 300X' scratch card on behalf of his firm, Doddridge Law Winners Revocable Trust.
To his surprise he won an amazing $15 million jackpot. The New Port Richey attorney became the first winner to claim this top prize from the Florida Lottery scratch-off game since its launch this year.
He and his colleagues decided to collect their prize as a lump sum payment, walking away with $10,430,000.
The Publix branch located at 33343 US-19 North in Palm Harbor, received a commission of $30,000 for selling the winning ticket.
The $30 game, 300X THE CASH , launched in September and features more than $1 billion in cash prizes, including four top prizes of $15 million.
The following day, Octavia Wright, 41, visited the store and bought a '500X The Cash' scratch card, which won her a cool $1 million.
The Palm Harbor woman also chose to receive her winnings as a one-time payment, bringing home $820,000.
Again, the Publix store was delighted to hear they had received another $2,000 bonus for selling this winning ticket.
