Good dog! Shocked owners find SECOND identical EuroMillions lottery ticket discovered by their pet dog

When Jane and Alan Slater won £150,000 (US$190,000) in the EuroMillions Lottery, they were delighted. But there was a strange twist to the story.

Both had bought a ticket without the other knowing, and with their favorite identical numbers. That meant both tickets had won that prize twice.

Except the second ticket had been forgotten or lost.

But a week later, when white labrador Ruby jumped into the couple's car for a drive, she disturbed a catalog, and the ticket fell out.

Alan, 65, a customer relations manager for Wightlink Ferries, had forgotten he had bought his ticket and left it in the car after celebrating his initial win.

It gets better. The second ticket was discovered on Ruby's birthday, and Alan told MailOnLine: 'We both burst into tears when we saw that the second ticket was also a winner."

It was exactly the same amount - £150,000 (US$190,000).

'It was actually a bit scary because it all happened in such a magical way, what with Ruby disturbing the ticket on her birthday and it floating so gently right in front of Jane's eyes."

"The ticket could so easily have disappeared in the rubbish when I tidied up the car, we couldn't help feel that someone was looking down on us."

The win was verified the morning after the draw on September 29 and it was a week before Lady Luck struck again for the couple.

Jane said about buying Ruby: 'She's the best purchase I've ever made. Her nose is amazing - she can smell fox poo from a mile away and roll in it."

'She doesn't need anything much - she loves her nice walks and she has lots of lovely food. It hasn't sunk in yet.'
