LOTTERY TICKET BLUES: Winner knocked out of his wheelchair and loses $175,000

A wheelchair street vendor in Singapore sells lottery tickets. Read here about another wheelchair user in Illinois who wasn't so lucky.

Here's the full testimonial from one of my Silverites about how he missed out on a cool US$175,000.00.

But there's some good news in this story, too...

---

Ken, I am sorry to say that I had all 5 numbers for the Illinois Lotto last Thursday and did not play unfortunately. A young girl hit me with her car and knocked me out of my wheel chair the Saturday before. This did considerable damage to the chair and myself resulting in my not winning the $175,000 pot. This would have been mine alone since nobody had the winning numbers. How is that for bad luck? Tell everyone to watch talking on a cell phone while driving.

Of course the bad news is that he didn't get to play.

But the good news is that Larry really won... the prize was sitting there waiting for him to play it.

You and I have it easy compared to Larry. All we have to do is make the effort.

Let me tell you what I had to do a while back to buy my tickets...

I had just driven back from upcountry - a 6 hour trip there and back. Since the tickets weren't in my car, I dropped off my wife, fed the cat, picked up the tickets, and went back another 10 minutes up the road to buy them.

And since it was draw night, I only just got in a few minutes before they closed ticket sales.

So whatever your circumstance, stretch it and get those tickets bought! It's really worth it.

Just to give you some incentive, here's a story from Lester who also didn't buy, and lost $1 million:

Hi Ken, After taking tickets of the same series for some time,... I decided to extend out to a much larger number of entries. This was what Ken had been saying so I followed instructions. Now I needed to get organised quickly and cut to the chase, buy the tickets and watch the results. I did get organised but alas I let that fateful night go by when I did not buy and the prize pool meant that $1M would have been won as my first line of numbers came up. Lester R.
