Generous 86-year-old woman shares lottery winning prize with store cashier
When 86-year-old Palm Springs woman Marion Forrest split half of her lottery prize money with the ticket seller, it was less than she hoped.
Every week, Marion stops to buy her Fantasy 5 lotto tickets at Duke's Mini Mart in Rancho Mirage, Palm Springs, but this week was different.

The store cashier had encouraged the woman to buy a lottery ticket earlier this week.
Marion purchased the ticket and said that if she were to win the $500,000 prize, she would take care of the cashier.
Forrest told News Channel 3 that the cashier, Walter, was very sweet to her, helping her out as she made a mistake while buying her tickets.
Customers applaud as Marion Forrest presents cashier Walter with his share of the lottery prize.
"I felt so good walking out of the store because he was gracious and sweet," Forrest told News Channel 3.
The elderly woman, however, only won $300 dollars, but kept the promise that she had made to the cashier.
She brought in balloons with cashier Walter's name on it and presented him with an envelope with $150 inside.
