Feline lucky? Australia's Mega Jackpot game breaks record with $70 million prize
The popular raffle-style game has hit a record breaking $70 million for the main jackpot prize today. And it may go higher.
Whoever takes home this prize will not only pocket the biggest ever Lucky Lotteries prize, but also become the nation’s second biggest individual lottery winner.
Lucky Lotteries is an Australian raffle-style jackpot game that guarantees more than 10,000 prizes in every draw.
Unlike other lottery games, each number is unique so there is no sharing of prizes.
There are two Lucky Lotteries games – Super Jackpot and Mega Jackpot.
Each game has a set amount of numbers per draw and once all available numbers are sold, the winning numbers are drawn using a random number generator.
Super Jackpot tickets are $2.20 each, with each ticket featuring a unique number between 1 and 270,000.
Mega Jackpot tickets are $5.50 each, with each ticket featuring a unique number between 1 and 200,000.
As the jackpot continues to break records, The Lott - organisers of the game - are conducting near-daily draws in the hopes of crowning Australia’s next multi-millionaire.
