20-Year-Old Florida Winner Grabs The $450 Million Mega Millions Jackpot
A young 20-year-old Florida man is the only winner of the $450 Million Mega Millions jackpot. Shane Missler of Tampa, Florida, came forward to claim the jackpot which he won in the January 5, 2018 draw.
His response was classic: "Oh. My. God." he put on Facebook at 11.35pm, just minutes after the draw which will change his life.
Shane Missler will take the a lump sum payout of $281.2 million after winning the Mega Millions.
It is the fourth largest jackpot in the 21-year history of the Mega Millions and the second largest jackpot won by a single ticket. Missler has selected the lump sum payout of $281.2 million.
The Port Richey resident bought the winning ticket from a 7-Eleven service station in Pasco County, Florida, using money he won previously from a scratch-off lottery ticket.
He purchased five quick-pick Mega Millions tickets and one was the winner. The money will be paid to a trust, set up with Missler as the managing member, called ‘Secret 007, LLC’ reported the Daily Mail.
"I'm only 20, but I hope to use it to pursue a variety of passions, help my family and do some good for humanity," Missler said in a statement.
"Although I'm young I've had a crash course this week in financial management and I feel so fortunate to have this incredible wealth and team behind me."
"I intend to take care of my family, have some fun along the way and cement a path for financial success so that I can leave a legacy far into the future."
