"I'm trying to stay as mellow and low key as I can," said Darren Doyle. So the Canadian $1 million winner promptly climbed on a stage with his daughter in front of a 12,000-strong cheering crowd!

Darren and Carlee Doyle started buying Lotto Max tickets together six months before their win in July 2015 and got a 'nice little return' on that investment, they told CBC News.
It started when Darren woke early to check the lottery results. He noticed a Prince Edward Island winner in the results, and when he examined it further it turned out he was the person who held the big ticket.

Soon the family of four were all up and celebrating. As a bonus, the Doyle parents also celebrated their wedding anniversary on the draw date.
Darren Doyle will fulfil a long-time dream and buy a Mustang. He's already ordered one, plus a new car for his wife.

Mustangs are popular with lottery players. Earlier in the year the New Mexico Lottery launched a $5 game which offered players with non-winning tickets a chance to win a limited edition Ford Mustang GT.
Carlee Doyle is also getting a car. "The possibilities are endless," she said.
They bought the ticket at the Belvedere Esso gas station on Brackley Point Road in Charlottetown.
